The Freecom Mediaplayer 35 is a clone of the Mediagate-35. Basically this is a network attached storage device which plugs into your TV and HiFi allowing you to play your digital media. There is support for several video and audio formats. Best of all it's an embedded Linux device. The possibility for customising the firmware makes this an interesting prospect.
Neptune345 is an alternative firmware for the Linksys WAG354G router based upon the source code from Linksys. I adds additional functionality including shell access via telnet and ssh, access to a small read-write partition on the device. This project has modest aims, it's no rival to OpenWRT but since other alternatives lack support for the WAG354G's wireless it the best around.\n\nThe official site for the project is http://cyberstorm.altervista.org/ so pay it a visit if you're interested. Big thanks to Marco V and all the other contributors on this project.\n\nFirmware for the V1 and V2 hardware is available from this site.\n\nVersion 0.2 (Annex A)\nhttp://wiki.techesolution.com/neptune354/neptune354_0.2_v1_AnnexA_upgrade_code.bin\nhttp://wiki.techesolution.com/neptune354/neptune354_0.2_v2_AnnexA_upgrade_code.bin\n\nVersion 0.2 (Annex B)\nhttp://wiki.techesolution.com/neptune354/neptune354_0.2_v1_AnnexB_upgrade_code.bin\nhttp://wiki.techesolution.com/neptune354/neptune354_0.2_v2_AnnexB_upgrade_code.bin\n\nVersion 0.1 (Annex A)\nhttp://wiki.techesolution.com/neptune354/neptune354_version1.bin\nhttp://wiki.techesolution.com/neptune354/neptune354_version2.bin
Version 0.2 of [[Neptune354]] was released on 30th december 2007. I have finally got around to building an image for version 2 hardware. Firmware for both version 1 and 2 hardware ia available from this site.\n\nI recently bought a Freecom [[Mediaplayer-35]], a network attached device that plays video and audio files. I was pleased to find it is an embedded Linux device and set about upgrading the firmware. Watch this space!
